# Hardware Naming
I always say that I’m a doer rather than a thinker. It allows me to be a sheep with much more impunity than would normally be afforded. With that in mind, I’m going to jump on the what do you call your hardware bandwagon that Will has started rolling, and there is nothing you can say about it.
Until yesterday my network SSID was veg, and had computers called carrot, potato and celery. My PSP lives on the network as zucchini, and I used to have a G3 iBook called sprout, but he is no more.
However, I’ve recently moved and have only got reconnected to the Internet yesterday so I am literally in the middle of re-configuring my network and have taken the opportunity to rename everything. I did start with the SSID carldr but I was told in no uncertain terms that that is a wholey unsuitable name and that I had to change it.
So now my SSID is sodor. My computers are called shrek, bender and flump, and the PSP is named humpty.
I’m going to pass this on to Greg, hoping that ‘Carl’ will be first word he writes in the first article on his new blog.
